Book Orders: Periodically I will be sending Scholastic Book Order forms home with your child. This is a chance for you to buy quality books for your child at low prices. For every dollar you spend our class earns credit. We will use this to buy more books for our classroom. If you wish to buy please complete the form and send in the payment to school by the due date.

Computers: We will be going to the computer lab twice a week. The children will be taught basic computer skills along with the use of age appropriate educational software.
Centers: The children will have the opportunity to reinforce skills taught in class through various activities at our learning centers.

Discipline: Each and every child is expected to behave appropriately, and exhibit self discipline. We will work together to make our classroom a positive and safe environment conducive to learning.

Emergency cards: Please fill out the emergency cards and return them to school. If your home or cell phone number changes please inform me and the office.

Field Trips: We will be going on a field trip to Clark's Elioak Farm in Ellicott City. More detailed information will be sent home on the field trip permission slip.

Graduation: We will have a special Graduation Day celebration on the last day of our school to celebrate the accomplishments of our little learners.Don't miss it.

Hundreth Day: Yippee! We are 100 days smarter! Bring in 100 of any item to celebrate! (Ex. Cards, Marbles, Cereal, etc.)

Illness: Your child's presence at school is important to us, but so is their health. If your child is sick, please keep them at home.

Journals: Kindergarteners combine their emerging writing skills with their drawing skills. Review your child's journal with them often to monitor progress.

Literacy bag: Your child will take home a backpack filled with materials and activities to reinforce skills, every now and then. Please practice these activities with them, and return the backpack on the assigned date for the next child to use.

Mother's Day Celebration: We will honor our mothers with a lovely program in May. Further information to follow.

Names: Please label everything your child brings to school. Ex backpack, coats etc

Outdoor recess: If the weather permits we will go outside to play. Please send your child with tennis shoes. Dress shoes and boots are not suitable for running.

Show and Tell: We will be having a 'show and tell' every friday. Please send in an item that begins with the letter of the week,so that your child can share it with the class. Please don't send anything valuable.

Tardy: If your child is not in his or her seat when the morning bell rings,he or she will be considered tardy. If so please obtain a tardy slip from the office and give it to me.

Unique: Each and every child in this classroom is unique in his or her own way. They will be valued, respected, and cared for as individuals. It's okay to be different!

Volunteers: Parent-volunteers are always welcome in this classroom, in fact we need parents who would like to volunteer with class projects, work with small groups, and act as chaperones during field trips.
